So what do you need to know about smart thermostats before you purchase and install one? The first thing to consider is making sure the WIFI signal in your home reaches the thermostat in the first place. You can use a smart thermostat with some intermittent WIFI but you will not reap the full benefits. Knowing what brand to choose is another consideration. Honeywell, Nest, and Ecobee are probably the top brads. Each one has its own pros and cons so make sure you do your research.

The last thing to consider is where your thermostat is. The thermostat itself senses the temperature and makes the adjustments.
